New PDF Release: “Voices of the Inner Sphere” – 70 Stories from the World of BattleTech (Free Download)
Welcome to the gaming table! When we dive into the BattleTech universe—whether during thrilling tabletop battles, campaign nights, or dynamic offensives in BattleTech: Alpha Strike —our attention usually turns first to the heavy hardware: the roar of autocannons, the glow of laser salvos, the characteristic howl of particle cannons (PPCs), and the towering silhouettes of our BattleMechs.
But what actually drives the people in the cockpits? What distinguishes a Kurita pilot’s sense of honor from the aristocratic etiquette of a Lyran officer or the brutally pragmatic civic spirit of the Capellan Confederation?
It is precisely this fascination that gave rise to my new unofficial fan project: “Voices of the Inner Sphere – The Struggle for Power”.

What can you expect to find in the PDF?
In this volume, I’ve compiled 60 thematic short stories (10 stories per faction) as well as an exciting bonus short story. They invite you to look beyond mere stats sheets and armor ratings and delve deep into the cultural and political soul of the realms:
- The Lyran Commonwealth (House Steiner): Industrial grandeur, sheer tonnage, and aristocratic elegance clash with the tragedy of incompetent “social generals.” Where a reconnaissance unit might consist of four 100-metric-ton mechs, and politics takes precedence over human lives.
- The United Suns (House Davion): The self-proclaimed bastion of freedom and democracy. An empire characterized by a chivalrous sense of duty, yet one that, behind the scenes, relies ruthlessly on intelligence operations (MIK) and power politics.
- The Draconis Combine (House Kurita): Imbued with the unyielding code of honor known as Bushidō. A sense of duty, iron discipline, and absolute devotion to the Coordinator always take precedence over one’s own life.
- The Capellan Confederation (House Liao): Forged from constant threat. A state that asserts its place in the universe through the dreaded Maskirovka, extreme civic virtue, and clever, asymmetric warfare.
- The Free Worlds League (House Marik): A dazzling, ever-changing mosaic state of federalism, megacorporations, diplomatic business acumen, and endless debates in the Parliament on Atreus.
- Bonus – The Magistrate of Canopus: A shining jewel of the Periphery! Matriarchal leadership, highly advanced medicine, worlds of entertainment, and an uncompromising pragmatism that places freedom above all else.
