Zeta Halo calls: The key highlights of the new Halo: Flashpoint reveals

For a long time, fans of the Halo tabletop had to wait for what defines the universe at its core: the presence of regular infantry units on the battlefield. Until now, Halo: Flashpoint has primarily focused on highly specialized elite skirmishes between Spartans and high-ranking elites. But with the releases announced for September 2026, Mantic Games is opening a monumental new chapter. The evolution of the game takes us straight to the surface of Installation 07 – Zeta Halo. We are faced with a wave of new features that fundamentally expand the game experience: Away from pure elite duels, towards true battlefield dynamics with mass infantry, iconic boss miniatures and a comprehensive rules update.

The infantry takes the field: Marines, Grunts and Jackals

The introduction of UNSC Marines and Banished reinforcements is a real game changer for force building and tactical depth on the table. It’s no longer just about activating individual uber-soldiers, but about synergy within platoons. Marines bring specialized roles such as medics and communication experts, hinting at new mechanical layers such as healing and improved activation control.

“The Marine Corps represents the largest part of the UNSC’s military land forces and is equipped for a wide range of operations.”

The new boxes expand the options:

  • UNSC Marines: Includes SpartanTomas Horvath as well as Corporals, Medics and Specialists. The arsenal of weapons is impressive: from classic MA5D Assault Rifles and VK78 Commando Rifles to heavy weapons such as the M41 SPNKr and Pulse Carbines.
  • Banished Reinforcements: This box brings the long-awaited Unggoy (Grunts) and Kig-Yar (Jackals) into play. With a total of 13 unit stat cards, the set offers enormous variance for playing Grunts either as cannon fodder (Conscripts) or as aggressive Assault units. They are led by an imposing Sangheili Enforcer with Shock Rifle.

These expansions ensure that Halo: Flashpoint now covers the entire breadth of the Halo conflict.

The arrival of the giants: The “Spartan Killers”

The absolute premium highlight for collectors and power players is the “Spartan Killers” box. These centerpiece models are made as “MasterCraft” miniatures from high-quality resin, which offers a significantly higher level of detail for painters compared to standard PVC. The sheer size of these figures is impressive – they clearly tower over an ordinary Marine or even a Spartan, underlining their status as a threat on the field.

This Special Issue box contains:

  • Jega ‘Rdomnai: The infamous Blademaster with Bloodblade and Ghostpierce.
  • Hyperius: Equipped with Ravager and S7 Sniper Rifle.
  • Tovarus: Armed with the massive Scrap Cannon.

As Mantic Games only produces a limited number of these sets each year, veterans should secure a copy early to integrate these iconic bosses into their fireteams.

Version 1.5: Balancing and “all-in” accessibility

Mantic Games uses the experience gained from 18 months of community feedback and organized play data for the update to version 1.5, with the aim of improving balance and consolidating keywords for a smoother game flow.

Advantages of the update at a glance:

  • Customer-friendly update concept: The “Zeta Halo All-In Bundle” includes the physical update pack (rulebook and card deck) free of charge.
  • Bonus terrain: The update pack contains additional map terrain, including the coveted Double-Height Tower.
  • Index Web App: The latest point values can be called up digitally at any time to keep the force building up to date.

This step shows how much the manufacturer is focusing on long-term maintenance of the system without penalizing veterans with expensive new purchases.

The perfect introduction: the revised Spartan Edition

For new players, getting started will be more modular and intuitive. The new Spartan Edition now directly integrates the contents of the old “War Games Expansion”, which enables the immediate creation of customized fireteams.

An important detail for veterans and newcomers alike: The MJOLNIR-armored veterans of the former Fireteam Grizzly are now available separately in their own, smaller “Grizzly” Fireteam box. So if you don’t need the entire expansion, you can now purchase this powerful unit separately. Alternatively, the new Game Rulebook Pack offers an inexpensive starting point that, together with faction boxes such as “Rise of the Banished”, enables individual one-player starter sets.

Battlefield Zeta Halo: Atmosphere and accessories

To complete the visual experience, the limited edition Zeta Halo Deluxe Gaming Mat is released. This full-color, non-slip mat perfectly captures the unique aesthetics of Installation 07.

“As part of the impressive Halo array, Installation 07 carries a history of conflict and a broken legacy that points to an uncertain future. The surface is characterized by lush flora and the gleaming architecture of the Blood Fathers.”

The Master Chief Paint Set from The Army Painter makes a fitting return. It not only contains the essential colors for the iconic armor, but also an exclusive Master Chief miniature, making it the perfect take-home item for fans.

Conclusion and outlook

The Summer 2026 releases mark the maturity test for Halo: Flashpoint. The completion of the factions with real infantry, the precise rules fine-tuning of version 1.5 and the impressive Spartan killer models make the system more attractive than ever for both tournament players and hobby painters. Mantic Games delivers “all killer, no filler” here.
