Empires are crumbling, new empires such as the Tamar Pact and the Alyina Mercantile League are emerging, and the mercenary trade is booming like never before. According to the <a href=\"https:\/\/masterunitlist.battletech.com\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/masterunitlist.battletech.com\/\">official <strong>Master Unit List (MUL)<\/strong><\/a>, there are exactly <strong>31 playable factions<\/strong> in this era, each with its own unit pool.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The best part is: You don&#8217;t have to commit to a single house or clan right away\u2014or forever. If you choose wisely, you can assemble a force that you <strong>can deploy<\/strong> almost <strong>anywhere on the battlefield for many different factions<\/strong>. Whether as a house militia, a mercenary lance, or a clan garrison.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I&#8217;ve analyzed the data from the Master Unit List and narrowed down the most universally versatile BattleMechs of the ilClan era for you.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">1.
