What is a Shielding Movement?<\/h3>\n\n

Shielding Movement represents a unit\u2019s active and self-sacrificing attempt to place itself directly in the line of fire in order to protect another\u2014usually weaker or more tactically important\u2014allied unit from enemy fire.<\/p>\n\n

An overview of the basic rules:<\/h4>\n\n

  1. Movement Requirement:<\/strong> At the end of its movement phase <\/a>, the shielding unit must have at least 1 inch of ground movement<\/strong> remaining in order to come into base-to-base contact<\/strong> with the unit it is protecting. Jumping may not be used for this purpose.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Size ratio:<\/strong> The unit providing protection must be at least as tall (or taller) as the unit it is intended to protect.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. The Attack Modifier:<\/strong> If the shield is up, every enemy attack whoseline of sight<\/em> passes through the position of the defending unit receives a penalty to its aim:\n
