They allow you to gather information without having to advance into the enemy&#8217;s dangerous short range. <\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>The rules:<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>PRB (Active Probe):<\/strong> Has a range of <strong>18 inches<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>LPRB (Light Active Probe):<\/strong> A more compact version with a <strong>12 inch<\/strong> reach.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Both automatically give the unit the <strong>Recon (RCN)<\/strong> ability.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Benefit:<\/strong> They identify sensor blips and reveal <strong>hidden units<\/strong> within their range. When playing with hidden value cards, probes allow you to scan to find out the exact configuration and damage of an opponent. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Tactical advantage:<\/strong> Ideal for scouts to uncover ambushes before your main force falls into a trap.  <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Attention:<\/strong> Enemy ECM can neutralize the effect of probes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">TAG 2: Target Acquisition Gear &#8211; Showing the way<\/h3>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">TAG is used to mark (&#8220;paint&#8221;) a target with a laser for destruction.<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>The rules:<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>TAG:<\/strong> Works at short and medium range.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>LTAG (Light TAG):<\/strong> Only works at short range.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>The attack:<\/strong> The mark is made using an <strong>additional special attack<\/strong> that can be performed alongside normal weapon attacks. The target does not have to be the same as the weapon attack. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>The effect:<\/strong> A successfully marked target is spotted for <strong>indirect fire (IF)<\/strong> without incurring the usual penalties for the spotter or its movement. In addition, <strong>semi-guided LRMs<\/strong> and <strong>homing artillery<\/strong> (such as Arrow IV) are almost guaranteed to hit this target. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Tactical advantage:<\/strong> TAG is a massive force multiplier for missile boats (MissleBoats) and artillery. It turns vague shots into deadly precision hits. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">3 NARC and iNARC: The rocket magnets<\/h3>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">NARC systems fire small homing beacons that attach themselves to enemy units and drastically improve target acquisition for subsequent missile salvos.<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>The rules:<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>NARC (CNARC\/SNARC):<\/strong> Like TAG, this is an <strong>additional attack<\/strong>. A landed pod deals no damage, but each subsequent missile (LRM, SRM, IF) against that target deals <strong>+1 point of damage<\/strong> for the rest of the game. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>iNARC (Improved NARC):<\/strong> Can fire at medium range and also grant the +1 damage bonus. The big advantage: iNARC can use <strong>special ammunition<\/strong> such as ECM pods (creates an enemy ECM field at the target) or Haywire pods (+1 penalty to the target&#8217;s attacks). <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Interaction:<\/strong> A NARC effect lasts until the unit is destroyed or enters a <strong>friendly ECM field<\/strong> that interferes with the signal.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Tactical advantage:<\/strong> NARC is perfect for quickly taking out &#8220;boss&#8221; mechs or heavy tanks. As soon as the pod sticks, every hit from your missiles becomes much more painful. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Summary of synergies<\/h3>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When you combine these skills, you are virtually unstoppable on the field:<\/p>\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>PRB scouts<\/strong> find the targets behind hills or in forests.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>TAG units<\/strong> mark the most dangerous opponents for artillery support.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>NARC pods<\/strong> increase the damage of your main battle line as soon as melee combat begins.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Use your electronics wisely and your opponent won&#8217;t even know what hit him before the hail of long-range missiles comes crashing down on him!<\/p>\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-uagb-container uagb-block-3c9c079a default uagb-is-root-container\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Transparency notice on the use of AI (in accordance with the EU AI Act):<\/strong> <br\/>The content of this blog is personally conceived, researched and defined by me.
