1. preparation: choose the hiding place<\/h3>\n\n
Before the game begins, defenders (or attackers, depending on the scenario) must determine which units will start hidden.<\/p>\n\n

Documentation:<\/strong> For each hidden unit, you must record the X-Y coordinates<\/strong> of its position and its orientation (facing)<\/strong> in writing. A precise coordinate system (e.g. a grid of inch markers on the edge of the table) is essential for this. \n

3 The discovery: When will the cover be blown?<\/h3>\n\n
A unit remains hidden until one of the following cases occurs:<\/p>\n\n

Own action:<\/strong> The unit moves or declares an attack.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
Physical proximity:<\/strong> An enemy unit moves into base-to-base contact<\/strong> or ends its movement there.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
Sensors:<\/strong> An enemy unit with an Active Probe (PRB)<\/strong> or Light Active Probe (LPRB)<\/strong> ends its movement so that the hidden unit is within probe range.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
Occupation:<\/strong> An enemy unit attempts to enter the space physically occupied by the hidden unit (or its base).<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n
4. the Surprise Attack<\/h3>\n\n
This is the moment every ambush specialist is waiting for. If an opponent approaches carelessly, the trap can snap shut. <\/p>\n\n

Condition:<\/strong> An enemy target moves within 2 inches<\/strong> of the hidden unit.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
The attack:<\/strong> The hidden unit may immediately perform a surprise attack. The base target value corresponds to the<\/strong> attacker’s skill value<\/strong>, modified only by critical damage. The target’s range or movement modifiers are ignored! <\/li>\n\n\n\n
Additional damage:<\/strong> The attack can be boosted by overheating<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
Consequences:<\/strong> The damage is dealt immediately. However, the attacker is “used up” for the rest of the current turn: they may not move, make any further attacks<\/strong> or give orders during this turn. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n
5. tactical synergies and special abilities<\/h3>\n\n
Some special abilities make hidden units even more dangerous:<\/p>\n\n

Battlefield Intelligence (Area Knowledge):<\/strong> A side with a high intelligence score (BI Score) may place a certain number of units (based on units with the Recon ability) as hidden, even in scenarios that do not normally provide for this.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
Special Command Ability<\/strong> Camouflage:<\/strong> Allows you to deploy half of your force hidden, even from the attacker and in terrain where you would not normally be able to hide.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
Special Command Ability<\/strong> Tactical Experts (Hidden Units):<\/strong> Doubles the number of hidden units allowed (up to 4 additional).<\/li>\n\n\n\n
Eagle’s Eyes (SPA):<\/strong> Pilots with this ability automatically detect hidden units within 2 inches, even if they are using ECM.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n
