Melee combat is a central element of the game, especially when Spartans with energy swords, elite warriors with blades or Brutes clash with brutal force. There are two ways to do this: <\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Targeted attack:<\/strong> A model in the same cube can start melee combat as a <strong>long action<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Assault:<\/strong> If a model moves into an opponent&#8217;s cube, melee combat is automatically triggered &#8211; <strong>free of charge<\/strong> as an additional action. This makes melee combat dynamic and rewards offensive moves. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Detaching from the opponent<\/strong>: If a model moves out of a cube containing an opponent&#8217;s figure (i.e. if you were in close combat), the opponent receives a free melee attack.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Weapons in close combat<\/h2>\n\n<p>Only weapons with the range <strong>&#8220;CC&#8221; (Close Combat)<\/strong> may be used. If a model has several close combat weapons, the player must choose one <strong>before dicing<\/strong>. The characteristics and keywords of this weapon then apply to the attack.  <\/p>\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The procedure<\/h2>\n\n<p>In close combat, there is a direct comparison of two dice tests:<\/p>\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>The attacker:<\/strong> performs a <strong>Fight test<\/strong> with 3 dice. Each dice value rolled that is at least equal to the value on the unit card for close combat counts as a success. \n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Modifiers can bring additional dice:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>+2 dice<\/strong> if the attack was triggered by a movement.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>+1 dice<\/strong> if a friendly model is in the same cube.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>+1 dice<\/strong> if the target is injured.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>+1 dice<\/strong> if the target was on the ground at the start of the action (pinned).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>The objective:<\/strong> perform a <strong>Survive test<\/strong> with 3 dice at the same time. Each dice value rolled that is at least equal to the value on the unit card for survival counts as a success. \n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>There are bonuses here too:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>+1 dice<\/strong> if there is another friendly model in the cube.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>+1 dice<\/strong> if the attacker is injured.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Who will win the melee?<\/h2>\n\n<p>Both players count their <strong>successes<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Attacker wins:<\/strong> The difference in successes corresponds to the number of <strong>hits<\/strong> the target suffers. Depending on the weapon, additional effects may occur &#8211; such as <strong>knockback<\/strong>, which pushes the opponent back. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Defender wins or tie:<\/strong> Nothing happens, the melee ends.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Conclusion: Direct, brutal and risky<\/h2>\n\n<p>Close combat in <a href=\"https:\/\/haloflashpoint.manticgames.com\/de\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><em>Halo: Flashpoint<\/em> from Mantic Games <\/a>is fast and hard. A bold assault attack can give you the decisive advantage &#8211; especially with powerful CC weapons such as energy swords or brute hammers.
