Your opponent brings a slow, heavily armed force with many <a href=\"https:\/\/mechstrategen.de\/en\/heavy-battlemechs-tactics-and-deployment-strategies\/\">heavy and assault mechs<\/a>. You, on the other hand, rely on a mobile force with light and medium scout and striker units. The <a href=\"https:\/\/mechstrategen.de\/en\/missions-in-battletech-alpha-strike\/\">mission type <\/a>is &#8220;Conquest (Capture)&#8221;. The <strong>mission objectives:<\/strong> Capture or destroy strategically important objects such as buildings (supply depots). I will explain the context and meaning of &#8220;strategy vs. tactics&#8221; below     <\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"293\" src=\"https:\/\/mechstrategen.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/AdobeStock_977524766-1024x293.jpeg\" alt=\"Strategy vs. tactics: The right approach is important.\" class=\"wp-image-413\" srcset=\"https:\/\/mechstrategen.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/AdobeStock_977524766-1024x293.jpeg 1024w, https:\/\/mechstrategen.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/AdobeStock_977524766-300x86.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/mechstrategen.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/AdobeStock_977524766-768x219.jpeg 768w, https:\/\/mechstrategen.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/AdobeStock_977524766-1536x439.jpeg 1536w, https:\/\/mechstrategen.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/AdobeStock_977524766-2048x585.jpeg 2048w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Strategy:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n<p>The <strong>strategy<\/strong> is your overarching plan for how you want to win the game overall.<br \/>In this case, your strategy is:<\/p>\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><strong>&#8220;I want to outmaneuver the enemy units through movement, strike selectively and control mission objectives instead of risking an open exchange of blows.&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n<p>This means:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>You want to use your mobility to exert pressure on several fronts.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You want to force his lumbering units to move in order to limit their firepower.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You plan to secure specific mission objectives and disappear again quickly.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Tactics:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n<p>The <strong>tactic<\/strong> is the concrete implementation of your strategy in the game.<br \/>An important tactic here is, for example, the <strong>&#8220;scattered formation&#8221;<\/strong> tactic<\/p>\n\n<p>You <strong>don&#8217;t<\/strong> place your units <strong>in clusters<\/strong>, but in <strong>small groups<\/strong> spread over several areas of the pitch &#8211; e.g. on three different flanks.<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>Advantages in the game:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The opponent cannot target all your troops at the same time.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>He has to decide <strong>which flank to pursue<\/strong>, which takes time.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The cumbersome enemy BattleMechs cannot change their position on the field so quickly.
