A fast-paced tabletop strategy game based on the classic BattleTech universe, where mechs, vehicles and infantry fight each other on a playing field.<\/p> <\/div>

How does Alpha Strike differ from classic BattleTech?<\/strong>

Alpha Strike is faster, less detailed and uses a simplified combat system to depict larger battles without long calculations.<\/p> <\/div>

How many players is Alpha Strike suitable for?<\/strong>

Normally 2 players, but teams can also play against each other. For example, in a team game, each player can take control of a lance or company if the total army consists of several lances\/companies. <\/p> <\/div>

From what age can Alpha Strike be played?<\/strong>

I would recommend this for ages 10 to 12 and up due to the rules. However, some parts of the tabletop hobby can also be played earlier, e.g. painting the units is also fun for younger children. <\/p> <\/div>

How long does a typical game last?<\/strong>

Usually 60-120 minutes. Depending on the size and number of units and the experience of the players. <\/p> <\/div>

What materials do I need to get started?<\/strong>

A lance is a group of four mechs that are used together as a tactical unit in the inner sphere. In the clans, the tactical unit is the star. A star consists of five units. <\/p> <\/div>

How do movements and ranges work in the game?<\/strong>

Each unit has a range indication on the card which shows the range that can be used in one turn. I have summarized more information about the movement phase in a blog article<\/a>. \"\"<\/p> <\/div>

How is damage calculated?<\/strong>

Damage is determined via dice rolls against target values and modifiers (SATOR), depending on weapon strength and range.<\/p> <\/div>

What are heat mechanics in Alpha Strike?<\/strong>

Heat is generated by weapon fire and certain actions; too much heat can disable mechs or reduce their performance.<\/p> <\/div>

How do critical hits and destruction of mechs work?<\/strong>

Critical hits can damage weapons, systems or armor. If the structure of a mech drops to zero, it is destroyed. <\/p> <\/div>

How are shots at distant targets handled?<\/strong>

Range acts as a modifier on hit rolls – the further away, the harder to hit<\/p> <\/div> <\/div>\n\n

Typically 1:285 (6 mm) to depict large battles on small playing fields.<\/p> <\/div>
